An American Airlines passenger is asking the company for "reparations" after tweeting that she was "wedged" between two "obese people" on a three-hour flight.
Sydney Watson, who describes herself as an Australian/American political commentator, posted to Twitter on Monday stating that she was "literally - WEDGED between two OBESE people on my flight."
"This is absolutely NOT acceptable or okay. If fat people want to be fat, fine. But it is something else entirely when I'm stuck between you, with your arm rolls on my body, for 3 hours," Watson said.
In the tweet thread, Watson said that "If you need a seat belt extender, you are TOO FAT TO BE ON A PLANE."

YouTube is rolling out what it calls a “small makeover” with a handful of new features and design changes intended to make watching videos on the platform a better experience.
In a blog post published Monday, the company said it’s adding new tools inspired by feedback from its YouTube creator community and viewers.
Perhaps the first thing users will notice are color changes intended to make consuming videos easier on the eyes. In addition to new vibrant colors, an ambient mode will allow the app to adjust the background color to match the video. An update to YouTube’s dark theme aims to make colors pop more on screen.

Leonardo has flown the first production AW609 commercial tiltrotor in a major milestone for the program.
The AW609—registered N609LH—flew from the company’s Philadelphia facility on Oct. 13. The manufacturer stated that a further three customer aircraft are now on the final assembly line.
Known as AC5, the aircraft is formally the first AW609 to be produced—the four prototypes that supported the development program were all modified from when the aircraft was first developed as the Agusta-Bell BA609; one of which was lost in an accident in Italy during a test flight in 2015.
“This amazing achievement adds to several milestones for the AW609 program over the last year, through its technical progress and during its public appearances,” Leonardo Helicopters Managing Director Gian Piero Cutillo said Oct. 19.

A teaser image of the Midnight in Archer’s second-quarter letter to shareholders shows an aircraft larger than the company’s Maker technology demonstrator, with the same 12-tilt-6 electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) configuration and a longer wing, cranked in profile with drooped tips.

COLORADO SPRINGS—As Bombardier continues certification tests of the extended-range Global 8000, company test pilots have provided new details of the unusual supersonic flight-test campaign conducted last year off the California coast.
Flight testing for the fastest and longest-range purpose-built business jet is being conducted using FTV-5, a development Global 7500 aircraft on which the new variant is based. Tests at supersonic speeds were required as part of plans to certificate the Global 8000 with a maximum Mach operating speed (MMO) of Mach 0.94, versus the Global 7500’s top speed of Mach 0.925.
Bombardier’s high-speed test campaign culminated in May 2021 when FTV-5 repeatedly achieved supersonic speed in shallow dives, reaching Mach 1.015 off California’s Pacific coast. The tests marked the fastest flight of a civil aircraft since the retirement of the Anglo-French Concorde and the first transport category aircraft to fly supersonically with sustainable aviation fuel.

DALLAS - A plane landed on a Dallas roadway after experiencing engine problems Saturday afternoon.
Few details have been released at this time, but the aircraft landed on Kiest Boulevard, between Loop 12 and Spur 408 in Dallas.
According to the FAA, this happened at about 3 p.m., when a multi-engine DA-62 landed about two miles northwest of Dallas Executive Airport, which is where it was set to land. The plane left from Winston Field in Snyder, Texas.
Investigators said the pilot experienced engine problems, struck a power line and a speed limit sign, before landing on the roadway.
