シンガポール航空はいつも定評のある、新型航空機の導入や世間の注目を浴びる話題を提供してくれていますが、機内にも、航空機らしからぬデザインを取り入れたようです。

Earlier this year, Singapore Airlines set the aviation world abuzz by announcing it would be completely redesigning its trendsetting First Class Suites, as well as refreshing business class, premium economy and economy aboard its flagship Airbus A380s.
今年初め、シンガポール航空は、ファーストクラスのトレンドを取り入れた完全な再デザインを発表し、航空界を騒がせた。同様に基幹となるエアバスA-380sのビジネスクラス、プレミアム エコノミーそしてエコノミーも刷新している。
Today, the airline officially unveiled its new First Class Suites…and they are as stunning as expected.

It is clear that not all pilots and controllers meet the English-language standard ICAO requires of them when using ICAO standard phraselogy – which is based on the English language and often called ‘aviation English’ – and plain-language English in international civil-aviation operations, a new research report commissioned by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) concludes.

ICAO standard phraseology – part of standard aviation language – is a specialized code used by pilots and air traffic controllers working in international commercial and civil aviation. It uses specific standards, phrases, and levels of proficiency established by ICAO, which requires pilots and controllers working in international civil aviation to demonstrate proficiency in the English language to a minimum Operational Level 4, as specified by ICAO.

Pilots for Alaska Airlines and Virgin America have won significant increases in pay and retirement benefits from Alaska Air Group Inc. (NYSE: ALK) following recent arbitration hearings.

1. 知らない単語をテキストで勉強し、全体の内容を理解する。
2. ビデオを見て、どこまで聞き取れるか試す。
3. 自分ができると思う何行か、繰り返して聞き、リピートしてみる。(シャドーイング)
4. 出来れば、Dictationを試みる。

The most powerful passport has been revealed. And if you carry a blue passport, guess what? You are not the one holding all the power.
According to the Passport Index, the tiny nation of Singapore has the world’s most powerful passport.
Meaning, residents of the Asian city-state can travel and cross borders more smoothly than any other passport holders.
The index tabulates the number of countries that holders of passports can enter either visa-free or by gaining a visa on arrival. And recently Paraguay removed visa requirements for those carrying Singapore’s passport, making it the 159th country Singaporeans can enter easily.
Germany is now in second place with 158 countries, followed by Sweden and South Korea at 157.
Where does the U.S. fall on this list? Not a great spot.
With 154 score and behind 18 other countries. It seems the ‘Make America Great’ slogan is not going as planned for President Donald Trump as the US travel document has fallen in favor since he took office.

Subaru Corp. allowed uncertified workers to inspect vehicles before shipment, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter, the latest scandal to hit Japanese manufacturers after a similar issue was found at Nissan Motor Co.
