久々の料理の英語です。今日は土曜日、ハロウィン🎃デス
Making a ground beef taco filling ain’t rocket science. You just cook ground meat with Tex-Mex seasonings.
牛挽肉でタコスの種を作るのは、難しくはありません。(簡単です。)の意味牛挽肉をテクスメックスの調味料でクックするだけです。
★テクスメックスとはテキサス南部で作られるメキシコとアメリカ料理の混合的な一種
★ain’t : am (are, is) not の短縮形、昔は黒人が文法を間違えて使っていたものが、今は白人でもくだけた表現として使っている。
★rocket science: 難しい事を比喩的に指す。
This recipe is a little spicy, but feel free to skip the serranos and substitute a packaged taco seasoning mixture for the spices, especially if you’re cooking for kids.
レシピは少し辛いので、セラーノ(メキシコの緑色の唐辛子)を使わず、スパイスには別のパッケージのタコスのミクスチュアでも代用できます。特にお子さんのために作られる時は...
Many taco seasoning mixes, such as Old El Paso and Ortega, come in your choice of spicy or mild.
多くのタコスの調味料、例えば、オールド エルパソとかオルテガブランドとかが辛味やマイルドさに応じて選べます。
INGREDIENTS (Serving 6) : 材料 6人分
For the filling:
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 onion, chopped
1/2 pound ground beef
1 garlic clove, minced 刻む
1 serrano chile, stemmed and chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin 挽いたクミン
For the tacos: タコスの材料
1 1/2 cups grated Cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese おろし金でおろした
1 1/2 cups chopped tomato
1 1/2 cups chopped iceberg lettuce
6 taco shells
1 cup Salsa Picante or favorite salsa, optional
PREPARATION (準備)
For the filling: (中の種)
Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the onion until it begins to wilt, about 2 minutes.

スキレット(小さめの鉄製の物を普通言うが、要はフライパン)にオイルを入れて、中火の強でオニオンをシナっとするまで2分程炒める。
Add the meat and sear, chopping with a spatula into small pieces until the pink color is gone.
肉を投入、フライ返しでさばいて、細かくし、赤みがなくなるまで炒める。
★spatula :板状のへら.フライ返し 料理道具です
Add the garlic and chile and cook for 2 minutes or until the garlic is soft.
ガーリックとチリを加え2分程クックかガーリックがやわらかくなるまで炒める。
Add the salt, chili powder, black pepper, cumin, and a tablespoon of water, mix well, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until well blended.
塩、チリパウダー、黒胡椒、クミンと水小さじ1を加え、よく混ぜ、2,3分か充分混ざるまで炒める。
Assembly: 作り方(シェルと呼ばれる外側の皮の中に順番に入れていくだけなのでこんな単語が使われている)
To assemble the tacos, put 1/4 cup meat mixture, then 1/4 cup each cheese, chopped tomato, and lettuce on each taco shell. Drizzle with salsa if desired.
タコスを作るには、1/4カップの肉種を入れて、チーズを1/4カップ、トマトにレタスをそれぞれ乗っけ、好みでサルサを振りかける。

Sony is developing a robot dog with smart home capabilities and plans to announce it next month, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.

The device would be a spiritual successor to the Aibo series of robot dogs that Sony released in the late ‘90s and early 2000s.
この犬は、Sonyが90年代後半から2000年初めに発売したAibo(アイボ)というロボット犬の精神を受け継いだ後継機になる模様だ。
The new dog is said to feature improved movement and internet connectivity that will enable it to control household appliances.
新型犬は、動作が向上し、家電をコントロールできるようインターネット接続できる機能が持たされているという。
Details on whether it will use the Aibo name or how much it will cost are unclear.
Aiboという名前が使われるのかとか、その値段についてはまだ詳細は不明である。
Previous Aibo robots sold for as much as $2,500.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Marc Garneau revealed that on Thursday, a Skyjet flight was struck by a drone as it approached Jean Lesage International Airport in Québec City.
日曜に発表された声明で、マーク ガーニュー氏は先週木曜、スカイジェット社の機はケベック市のジーン リサージ国際空港に着陸時ドローンに衝突された事を明らかにした。
"I am extremely relieved that the aircraft only sustained minor damage and was able to land safely," said Garneau.

The Ministry of Transport told me that the aircraft was a Beech 100 King Air. The drone has not been identified.

Garneau told CBC that "it could have been much more serious" had the drone struck an engine or the cockpit.

He said the drone had been flying 3 miles from the airport at 450 meters (around 1,500 feet). This is 150 meters above the legal limit. There were eight passengers on the plane.

The FAA's rules state that no drone should fly over 400 feet nor anywhere near airports or aircraft. To fly within 5 miles of an airport, you need permission.

In Canada, Garneau insisted that drones were a menace.

Super Typhoon Lan has been undergoing rapid intensification on Thursday night and Friday, and may reach Category 5 intensity by Saturday morning. The storm had maximum sustained winds of 150 miles per hour as of Friday afternoon, eastern time, and was still slowly intensifying.

Super Typhoon Lan is in a favorable environment for strengthening, and is likely on a collision course with highly populated areas of Japan while in a weaker, but still formidable state.

One characteristic of this storm that's clear from satellite imagery is that it has developed a massive eye about 50 miles in diameter.

To put that into perspective, if you put the center of the storm on top of Manhattan, it would encompass parts of New Jersey, the lower Hudson Valley of New York, southwestern Connecticut, and western Long Island.
