The Sustainable Development Goal 5 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development underscores gender equality as a human right and underlines the importance of women and girls’ empowerment as essential to spur economic growth and promote social development. While the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the challenges that women face in their lives, it has also presented itself as an opportunity for building back better, including for women in the aviation sector. By encouraging women to participate in online training, by skilling and re-skilling female resources, women will have the opportunity to move to more technical and higher positions, which ultimately will contribute to enhancing gender equality in the workforce.
