過去になく航空界の人員不足が想定されている中、米国の航空大学校でのパイロット要員育成が取り沙汰されています。

現在、日本でも東南アジア系のLCC航空会社のパイロット不足（日本を含め）が言われ、英語ができる国際線のパイロットの養成が急務となっております。（国際間を運行するためには一定の英語レベルの認定を受ける必要性があるためですが）

 

In the past two years starting salaries for commercial pilots at regional carriers have doubled—from $30,000 to $60,000—noted Ken Byrnes, the flight department chair for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Daytona Beach campus. He explained that the starting salary is now competitive with other fields drawing the attention of young people considering their career options.

過去2年間で地域航空業界でのプロパイロットの初年度の報酬は3万ドルから6万ドルへの2倍となった。デイトナビーチキャンパスのエンブリーリドル航空大学校の航空主任、ケン バイネス氏は言う。

初年度の報酬の増額は他の業界に匹敵し、若い人々の職業選択の可能性を引き寄せるものであると説明する。

 

Envoy Air Senior Vice President for Air Operations Dee Temples told a November gathering of aviation educators that there was “no better time to become a pilot.” The largest regional carrier for American Airlines provides pilots with a pathway to a major airline job.

エンボイエアー航空運航部の先任副社長のディー テンプル氏は11月の航空教育者会合で、”パイロットになるのに良い時期というものはない” と言った。アメリカンエアラインの最大の地域航空は、主要エアラインへの門戸をパイロットに提供している。

Other regional air carriers and some aviation schools are linked to similar pilot pathways at major air carriers including Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, and more.

他の地域航空や民間航空学校も似たような、アラスカエアライン、デルタ航空、サウスウエスト航空やユナイテッド航空への門戸の道を開いている。

Airspace manufacturer Boeing predicted that aviation would remain “hot” for at least the next 20 years, citing an increased public appetite for travel, emerging economies, and advances in technology. The aerospace giant called for 637,000 pilots, 648,000 technicians, and 839,000 cabin crew members worldwide.

航空機産業界のボーイング社は、航空界は少なくとも後20年は熱いとし、飛行機での旅行、経済の発展、技術革新などで増加の一途を辿るであろうと言っている。

巨大航空機産業界の雄は673,000名のパイロット、648,000名の技術者と839,000名のキャビンクルー（機内要員）を必要とすると述べている。
